Celebrating God’s Creatures at Our Blessing of the Pets

Our Holy Cross Catholic School community recently gathered for a special Blessing of the Pets ceremony, celebrating the joy and companionship that animals bring into our lives!

In honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, students and families came together to recognize the important place our furry, feathered, and four-legged friends hold in God’s creation.

The ceremony was a wonderful reminder that all living creatures are gifts from God and deserve our love, kindness, and care. It was also a special opportunity for our students to see their faith come to life as we reflected on St. Francis’s example of compassion and respect for all of God’s creatures.

At Holy Cross, we love finding meaningful ways to connect our Catholic faith with everyday experiences. Our Blessing of the Pets is a beautiful tradition that reminds us to be thankful for the animals who bring so much happiness to our families.

God’s blessings on all our beloved pets and the families who care for them!
