The 5th graders are off and running, and their classroom is buzzing with energy and discovery!
In Math, they’ve jumped into a brand-new curriculum. It’s a big change from Saxon Math, but these students are rising to the challenge and finding success. Right now, they’re tackling whole numbers, expressions, and volume—big concepts that are setting the stage for an exciting year of math growth.
In Science, things are getting a little germy! The class has started the Infection Detection unit, where they’re learning all about pathogens, the immune system, and healthy habits. Soon, they’ll put their skills to the test by designing experiments to stop the spread of germs and investigating a fictional outbreak. It’s science that feels a lot like solving a mystery!
Meanwhile, in Grammar, students are exploring the world of nouns and sharpening their note-taking skills—tools that will serve them well in every subject. Over in Social Studies, the class is beginning a journey through North America, with a spotlight on the United States. From regions and geography to history and states and capitals, they’re becoming experts on our nation.
The year has only just begun, but it’s already clear: 5th grade is packed with curiosity, creativity, and plenty of adventures in learning!
