The second-grade classroom is buzzing with energy and creativity! Here’s a glimpse of the wonderful activities and experiences keeping our students engaged and excited:
Turkeys in Disguise
Our hallway is now home to some cleverly disguised turkeys! The students worked hard to create unique disguises for their turkeys, then wrote Wanted posters and narratives to accompany them. Their creativity and storytelling skills are truly impressive, and their work is proudly on display for everyone to enjoy.
Buddy Time with 7th Grade
Second graders and their 7th-grade buddies teamed up for a fun and meaningful activity about the Holy Trinity. Using candy corn as a learning tool, they explored this important concept and then got to make delicious turkey-themed treats using cookies and candy corn. It was a great way to mix learning and fun!
Science Success
In science, students tested their prototype seed dispensers—and they were all successful! Afterward, they discussed ways to improve their designs, showcasing their problem-solving skills and teamwork. Future engineers in the making!
A Fond Farewell to Mrs. Nowak
Today, we said goodbye to Mrs. Nowak, and what a special farewell it was! The students made heartfelt cards and gifts for her, and in return, Mrs. Nowak brought books about the rosary and beautiful, handmade rosaries for each student, customized with their favorite colors. The rosaries, made by Mrs. Nowak’s mother, are wonderful keepsakes that the students will treasure.
Every day in 2nd grade is filled with learning, laughter, and special moments. We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see what new adventures are around the corner!
Holy Cross Catholic School is part of the Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) School System. It is a private Catholic school serving Preschool and Elementary through 8th grade (PK3-8).
