	Buzz cuts for St. Baldricks at Holy Cross Catholic School (WFRV)– One local school has ended the year on a positive note, by raising big money to help find a cure for childhood cancer. 	Student project helps disabled hunters (WLUK) A class of eighth graders at a Green Bay area school is teaming up with Wisconsin Public Service to help the handicapped. 	Holy Cross eighth-graders construct hunting platforms for disabled (GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE) – Joe Cherney and his Holy Cross School classmates spent Monday learning about construction — and a good deal more. 	Terrific Teacher: Using GPS to get kids hooked on science (WFRV) – A teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School is using technology to get kids out of the classroom. The school is part of the Green Bay Area Catholic Education System. 	2,728 Students Participate in the GRACE System (WFRV) – The Green Bay Area Catholic Education System is new, but its members have been around for years. The school system is made up of all the elementary and middle catholic schools in the area. More than $220,000 will be shared between 10 schools and that will make it possible for more than 140 families to attend. Money saved from the collaboration allows for new technology and learning programs that are shared. There are 2,728 students throughout the GRACE System. 	Holy Cross students raise over $12,000 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation (WFRV) Thanks to the efforts of one determined seventh grader, seventeen people volunteered to come forward to have their heads shaved at Holy Cross Catholic School, 3002 Bay Settlement Rd. in Green Bay, WI. The Holy Cross “shavees” and their supporters raised over $12,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation– to fund the fight against childhood cancer. 	Holy Cross service project supports Afghani children (The Compass) On Dec. 10, Holy Cross School students, faculty and staff welcomed a special visitor. Dr. Chad Zehms, a physician from Green Bay, appeared live by video conference from Afghanistan, where he is stationed with the U.S. Navy. Dr. Zehms, who has two nieces attending Holy Cross, fielded a wide range of student questions. He also shared his gratitude for the efforts of the school community. For its annual global service project, Holy Cross chose to support students in Kunduz, Afghanistan. Read more…
	Story, photos: Japanese students share culture at Holy Cross School (GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE) Ranging in age from just nine- to thirteen-years-old, six brave little Japanese girls and their American teacher journeyed halfway around the world to see how their counterparts live here in Northeast Wisconsin as part of a new exchange program at HCCS. The visit from our Japanese friends provided a deep level of understanding, by immersing our students in Japanese culture and our visiting students in American culture. Read more….
