Holy Cross has been a part of my life for a LONG time! I am starting my 22st year of teaching at HCCS, Currently, I am teaching 1st grade. During my years here, I've taught 4th/5th multi-age grades, 4th grade, 2nd grade and 1st grade. I have also taught other places prior to coming to HCCS! After graduating from Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, with a degree in Elementary Education and Theology, I taught 1st grade in various states as a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. In my free time I love to take care of my flower gardens, read, play flute, make cards, watch the Packers, and dog sit my sister's dog, Ozzie. The longer I teach the more I appreciate how hard the children work at learning something new. It is such a wonderful experience to see the light in their eyes when something has been accomplished. It is truly a blessing to be a part of this process of learning and growing.

Life Cycle of a Painted Lady Butterfly

The 1st and 2nd grades have begun our study of the painted lady butterfly life cycle. Our caterpillars have arrived and we have made their habitats and placed the butterflies inside of them. We are observing them and noticing how FAST they grow.

Stay tuned for the next stage of the butterfly’s life cycle!
